SCRIP INFORMATION

What is Scrip?
Scrip cards are the same gift cards or gift certificates you would buy directly from the stores. Great Lake Scrip works with over 300 national retailers such as AMC Theatres, Giant, Home Depot, Olive Garden and Exxon/Mobil, to offer gift cards to non-profit institutions such as schools. For each card that is purchased through the school, STARS receives a percentage of the sale. For example, if you purchase a $25 Pizzeria Uno's gift card, STARS will receive 17% or $4.25.

How can I find out which retailers participate and what denominations of cards are available?
Order forms are in the school office or you may download an order form here. The order form also lists the percentage of credit STARS will receive from each retailer. To see all the vendors available, visit the Great Lake Scrip website at www.glscrip.com. You may write in any additional vendor on the order form.

Additionally, you may order online at www.shopwithscrip.com.  Use the STARS enrollment code to register your family.  The code is L32D871D7873.  Once registered with shop with scrip, you may also register for presto pay.  It is new service that will deduct your order amount right from your bank account.  It will mean no more checks to STARS.  There is a $0.39 fee for each order for this service.

When are orders placed and when will I receive my order?
Orders can be turned in any school day. They are held in the office until next scheduled order date when they are processed. You can choose to have the completed order sent home with your child or you can pick it up at school between 2:30-3:00 p.m. on following Friday.
New this year will be top ten cards.  AMC, Chili’s, Chipotle, Exxon, Giant, Kohl’s, Panera Bread, Safeway, Shoppers, and Starbucks will be available for purchase.  Send in a Top Ten order form which you can download here and your order will be sent home in approximately two days.

I really don't purchase many gift cards. Is it really going to make a difference whether or not my family participates?
We aren't asking any family to spend a penny more than they would normally. If you typically shop at Giant, please consider purchasing Giant Scrip cards to pay for your groceries, rather than writing a check or using your debit/credit card. If you purchase gas at WaWa or rent movies from Blockbuster, purchase a WaWa or Blockbuster Scrip card. If you buy gift cards for birthdays or holidays, purchase the cards through Scrip. If each family purchased $275 in groceries and gas Scrip cards each month, STARS could earn over $20,000 this year!
