Students at St. Thomas Aquinas Regional School Pray for Babies
As the culminating event for Respect Life Month, eighth graders from St. Thomas Aquinas Regional School headed to an abortion clinic in Manassas, VA to pray for the two victims in each abortion, the mother and the baby. As cars zoomed by the busy Route 234, the students prayed the rosary in front of the Amethyst Health Center for Women and held signs encouraging adoption and "personhood" for all.
During the bus ride, Father Stefan Starzynski spoke to the students about being involved in pro-life work. Most women don't want to have abortions, but they don't know that there are other options" he explained. We don't condemn these women, because we know that they are searching for love and for the truth - but we do show them a better option and we help them to choose life for their babies and a better life for themselves. Father Stefan started two homes for women in crisis pregnancies in Arlington, VA.
| "We always go to the March for Life in Washington DC," said Principal Sister Maria Goretti, O.P., "but most of these students have not actually prayed outside of an abortion clinic." We want the students to never pass up an opportunity to show compassion and love, especially when the matter is life and death.
"I was nervous at first, but really, it was moving," said student Adrienne Pritz. The students intend to do this again, at least annually.
