School Check In® implemented at Aquinas

Aquinas receptionist Maria Moghtadaie and Volunteer Marisa Olszewski demonstrate the new School Check In system in the Front Office.

Aquinas recently implemented an automated volunteer and visitor tracking system. Designed to streamline the process of signing in and receiving badges for building access, the new system is quick and easy to use.

Volunteers

Many volunteer names are already entered into the system so you can simply select your name from the drop-down list, select your volunteering category, print your badge and be on your merry way. At check-out, you just select your name from the signed-in list and the computer automatically keeps track of your volunteer hours for you.

Visitors

Slightly different, visitors just type in their name, select their reason for visiting, and then print their badge. The check-out process is identical to the volunteer process.

The new system not only streamlines the sign-in/sign-out process; it allows Aquinas to track volunteer hours (now required for the United Way - IRS form 990), know instantly who is in the building at any given moment (a safety feature in case of a building evacuation), and save space and money by keeping historical logs electronically rather than in a filing cabinet.

Mrs. Laura Kasik was responsible for researching and beginning the implementation process for this new system and we are truly thankful for the leg work she did.
