Mission

To provide a Christ-centered education that allows students to meet their full spiritual and academic potential.

Founded

In 1977, as a mission of the Dominican Sisters of Nashville, Tennessee, St. Cecilia Congregation.

Accreditation

Full accreditation from the Virginia Catholic Education Association (VCEA).

Curriculum

Focused, challenging Pre-K through 8th Grade program, including algebra, Spanish, fine arts, technology training, science lab, library, and noncredit enrichment courses.

Technology

Full-time Technology Coordinator to manage network services; computer lab aide for instruction and integration of technology into curriculum.

Services

Extended Day Care before and after school; Health Clinic; Resource Teacher; two part-time Guidance Counselors, full-time Science Lab teacher. Hot lunch 5 days per week.

Athletics

JV and Varsity teams including basketball, baseball, softball, football, soccer, volleyball and wrestling, supported by JV and varsity cheerleaders.

    Spirituality

    Weekly student Mass; seasonal celebrations; middle school retreats; daily school-wide prayer led by the principal. Special devotion to St. Thomas Aquinas, patron of the school.

    Facility

    Middle school housed in separate wing; kindergarten, primary, and intermediate grades located in newly completed $3 million addition to school. Addition includes state of the art computer lab and 12,000 volume library. In 2007, the middle school wing was renovated to add new lighting, floors, windows, and cubbies for the students. In addition, Activboards were installed in grades 4-8.

    Volunteer Opportunities

    A very active and involved PTO helps plan and coordinate fundraising events, special luncheons, and social events for parents, students, faculty and staff.
