St. Thomas Aquinas Regional School follows the curriculum guidelines of the Dioceses of Arlington Catholic Schools, requirements established by the Commonwealth of Virginia and criteria published by the Virginia Catholic Education Association (VCEA).

The elementary curriculum encompasses all of the sequentially ordered learning experiences which the school provides for its students in grades pre-kindergarten through eighth. The total curriculum includes the development of Catholic values and attitudes, as well as the attainment of knowledge and skills necessary for the students' spiritual, moral, intellectual, social and physical development. The basic curriculum for all schools in the Diocese includes the following subjects: Religion, Reading, Language Arts, (English, Spelling and Handwriting), Mathematics, Science and Social Studies, Fine Arts (Art, Music, Band), Physical Education, Computer Technology, Library and Foreign Language.
